The designer Hannah Khiangte primarily started the brand in 2013 to give the women of Mizoram a more unconventional, edgier yet elegant formal wear to add to their Sunday best. The brand has redefined women's wear in Mizoram and has single handedly created a whole new market for the same. It has grown leaps and bounds in only a few years throughout the North East of India and significantly expanded its production size and now the brand has also branched out to wedding gowns.

The brand Hannah Khiangte stands for classical fashion with a slight edge. It celebrates individuality with a sense of mystery and excitement. The brand lays emphasis on classic silhouettes to enhance a woman's body and great attention is paid to tiny details of the clothing. The brand seeks to reinvent the classic conservative fashion by bringing a modern twist while making the woman wearing it comfortable and confident in her body.

Hannah Khiangte believes that making sustainable clothing doesn’t have to be boring. What makes the gowns so special and unique are that the textiles are all hand-made and production is done in- house. The designer has incorporated hand woven textiles inspired by the Mizo traditional way of making textiles. In fact, some of the cotton used for the textiles are home grown cotton, organically grown by the locals from the villages and is all manufactured by hand throughout the yarn-making process and is later woven by hand. The gowns are luxury eco friendly textile combing couture techniques with most sustainable fabrics. The looks are made-to-order and produced locally.
